Todowing

Todowing is an unofficial Chrome extension for Todoist. Todoist flattens sub-tasks in views like Today, Upcoming, Boards, Filters and Labels, so a task shows up without its parent. Todowing nests sub-tasks back under their parent inline, up to four levels deep, with due date, priority and labels on each row. You can complete and reopen sub-tasks from the list.

It also adds a focus timer that counts down beside your list for chosen Today tasks, time estimates that total per view, a notes pad above Today, a font picker, seven color palettes, a text-size slider, and read-only Apple Calendar events on the Today view.

Who it's for: Todoist users who break work into sub-tasks and want to see them outside project lists. Any Todoist plan works, and Todoist Pro is not required. It runs in the Todoist web app in Google Chrome, not in the desktop app.

Pricing: the free tier covers inline nesting with up to 5 sub-task rows per top-level task, the color palettes and the text-size slider. A $19.99 one-time unlock removes the row limit and adds sub-task editing and reordering, focus sessions, the notes pad, the font picker and Apple Calendar. There is no subscription, future updates are included, and refunds are available within 14 days.

Privacy: your Todoist API token stays in your browser and goes to the official Todoist API and nowhere else. Tasks do not pass through Todowing's servers, and the extension has no analytics or tracking.
